Day 36 - vers le nord, presque

Going North, almost...  🧭

When we 1st started out on this trip we were always conscious about what  day of the week it was "Its Sunday! the shops will be shut ! We are going to starve 😫😫😫😫😫😫". Now, we don't much bother about it. We always have something that is edible in the cupboards and as long as we have beer, I'm happy 😉. 

    The same goes for routes. Now, we just head in a general direction, sticking to the back roads. If there is something interesting to see, great, otherwise every now and then you just get a A to B sort of day. Today was one of those days. A punch, just short of 100 miles to get us, roughly, near to something to go and see the next day. Vayrac to Saint Junien.

In between the parks really, maybe head into a new park, the Parc naturel régional de la Brenne the next day. Maybe.

    The scenery was what we were used to by now 'down on the flat'; small villages, farmland, wooded areas. But there is always at least 1 interesting or amusing bit along the way.........

"It's my right of way, the sign says so 😡"

"Yeh, so what. What you going to do about it LITTLE car 🥱"

"I'm going to get my brother that's what 😡"

"O, ok 😳"

Then the same happened to us 😅

Google maps satellite view can be interesting sometime if you have the time to trawl thru it. I knew we would need a place to stop for lunch so looking for picnic areas or a carpark by some water I found something strange that was just begging to be investigated, the 'Devils Plug Hole' 😱 ...... and I didn't tell Jill 😆

"Turn right here, yes, over that narrow road by the water, there is some parking on the other side.. "

(Jill) "What !, what's that? Oooo I don't like that, honestly, oooo, no, ooo that's weird. I don't know why but that gives me the creeps, ooo that's so weird, ooo I don't want to go near that"..

Its obviously an overflow for the lake but I must admit it did look weird, maybe it was how the water went right to the edge but not over it, I don't know 🤔. Wanted to get higher to have a better look in it but couldn't.

That was it. Had lunch then continued and got to our next site which had plenty of shade and only a handful of vans on it. 

     Made tea, sat eating and 2 police officers turned up 😮.They were going round all the vans but got very confused when they walked over to ours as the sliding door is on the opposite side from French vans and that threw them a little.  Wanted to check our membership card as they had had people letting in more than 1 van at the barriers. First time we had heard about such things.  Strange day.
