Day 9 - journée farniente sur place

Lazy day on site......Still half asleep, I wandered over to reception to pick up our fresh bread order only to be confronted by unhappy french campers giving the poor girl on the desk a hard time because the wrong bread order had been delivered to site. The french do get a bit tetchy when they dont get their croissants in the morning. When it came to my turn  I simply gestured to the girl to make our order up with anything that had chocolate in it 😋...you cant go wrong with chocolate 🤗.
Today was laundry day and it was sunny. Once Jill had the machine loaded with clothes and tokens, she settled down for the morning. Sat at the back of the van with the doors open, sipping cold lemonade shandy, she  continued to work on her sock making kit she had been given for Christmas why I pottered about the van. I rearrange the fridge so as to hold more....beer. The under sink storage (cellar) was arranged to hold more...beer, and a full inventory was carried out regarding the stock levels for both red wine and....beer 😉.
After lunch we wandered into town. We needed some fresh veg and cakes and I wanted a fitting for the hose we use to fill up with water.
What we found was La Bricomarché 😱
It was B&Q, Screwfix and Wicks all rolled into one and then force fed steroids 🤪.... it was amazing, it was sensory overload... it was just tooooo many shiny things to buy ! I couldnt cope, couldnt decide.... and ended up leaving with....... nothing 🥴
I needed a beer. Back at site I drowned my sorrow's with a 6.7% Blonde looking at the Pyrenees in the sunshine while Jill made tea.
Tomorrow is moving on day but where?
Plan A - The Pyrenees... but the weather is
not looking good.
Plan B - Head into Spain and head south to try and avoid the weather.
Plan C - new plan after talking to the Brit couple next to us. They came back from Spain yesterday ; Dont Go!
Having visited Spain for over 20 years and actually owned a house there which the guy had built himself, he was adamant. Spain was in its 3rd year of drought, it was just too hot, and it was only the start of May. The border crossing they had just passed thru was grid locked with campervans heading into Spain and all the campsites were already full. The landscape was scorched and many overnight stops on the apps either didnt exist anymore or had no water to fill up at. If we did want to go into Spain then we should head along the North coast , heading West and get into the Picos mountains which were green and very similar to were we are now.
What to do? 🤔
